Do you need to comply?

Yes, if your school has signed a funding agreement with the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD).

Conditions of compliance

All schools are required to provide information to DEECD on a range of student characteristics as at the last Friday in February.

If you have to comply, what do you have to do?

The DEECD census includes questions on the total number of students attending the school, the number of full time students, the number of part time students, the age of ungraded students and the number of Full Fee Paying Overseas Students. 

Schools must complete and submit the census in the prescribed form by the specified date.

What are the consequences if you don’t comply?

The census is a requirement under a school’s funding agreement with DEECD.
